We may believe as coaches we are nonjudgmental and we “don’t see color” (or allow our interactions with and decisions about others to be influenced by our bias about their gender, age, etc.) Is that really possible? Unconscious bias neuroscience research says no, that is not how our brains work. Even those of us who are used to working multi-culturally! (Humility is very important on this journey.)

From the Glass Curtain, generational gaps and lingering cultural fears or resentment, our coaching and clients will benefit from recognizing and managing our unconscious bias.

How do we recognize and appropriately manage our bias? Marilyn O’Hearne, MSW, Master Certified Coach, author of Breaking Free from Bias: Preventing Costly Complaints and Talent Loss, presents an interactive program, sharing two of her six IMPACT steps designed to move us from bias and judgement, which can sabotage our success, to increased impact and influence.

Benefits of attending this program:

  • Discover how your unconscious bias may be unknowingly sabotaging success.
  • Develop a few minute centering practice which facilitates moving from unconscious to conscious awareness. (Discover how much time we operate in our unconscious!)
  • Begin to develop strategies to identify and manage bias
